Letting in the new; releasing the old

On February 6, 2026, I'll be releasing two new tracks – Tug and VBQ – both started back in 2020. It's my first release in over six years, and this time I decided to do something new: promote my work!!! 🙈

If you follow me on social media, you might have seen a short video that I posted today – the first in a series meant to promote this release. The series is an expression of my struggle to engage with creativity through the addictive cycles of smartphones and perfectionism.

If you can, please take a moment to view the posts on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. It really helps me to reach new people.

Tug has been a constant struggle with perfectionism, while VBQ was a much more fun and flowing process. After literally years trying to get the mix right for Tug, VBQ largely came together in one evening. I am so excited to share them with you!

It's taken some big shifts for this to happen, namely:

  • learning to trust my limits, and not push myself when I'm drained
  • learning to let creativity lead the way, and finding energy in the fun of flow
  • learning to beat perfectionism at a staring contest (sometimes...)

Keep an eye out on social media for the next videos in the series.

Talk soon,
Sk [Rain]
